In the Trade Machine this deal works and would land the Bucks a special young guard that is not happy being a Maverick anymore. Dennis Smith Jr. was the 9th Pick in the 2017 Draft and is an explosive guard that any team in the NBA would like to make room for in their rotation. Also coming back in this trade would be Kostas Antetokounmpo the younger brother of “The Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo. Landing these two players would cost the Bucks a little and this is what I’m thinking would be fair. The Bucks should include Rookie and First Round Pick this year, Donte DiVincenzo. Also they should include the underachieving but still promising Thon Maker.
Giannis is close friends with Thon and considers him a little brother. To lighten the blow of this trade the Bucks would get back Giannis’s real brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo. Kostas is a project and would not expect to see real mins anytime soon but could grow and develop under his brothers direction. This Trade would also move Dennis Smith Jr. into the backup point guard spot and move George Hill over to the reserve shooting guard spot for the Bucks.
Dallas would be adding a nice piece to build with next to Luka Doncic in Donte DiVincenzo. Also Thon Maker could possibly benefit from a change of scenery and play at least this year behind DeAndre Jordan and could first hand see the level of toughness he’s going to need to develop to become what he’s capable of as a Center in the NBA.
