Bucks Beat Hawks 144-112; Ilyasova Returns!

Milwaukee, Wi – On the night that Ersan İlyasova returned from injury the Milwaukee Bucks clobbered the Atlanta Hawks at the Fiserv Forum. No Bucks player scored more then 19 points. No Bucks starter played more then 22 mins and they handled Atlanta from the start. Milwaukee scored 43 points in the first quarter as they held the Hawks to a 14 to take a stunning 29 point lead at the end of the opening quarter.

The way this team is playing should be all credit to head coach Mike Budenholzer and his staff. In the past games like this the Bucks had issues getting up for and would lay eggs in but not under coach Bud. Normally Milwaukee plays a bottom dwelling team and lets them hang around in the game and even loses. This Bucks team is not like that at all. At 27-10 the Bucks sit on top of the NBA and are becoming a legitimite threat no go all the way and content for the title this year.

Milwaukee plays Toronto in Milwaukee on saturday in the 3rd matchup of the season of these 2 teams. The Bucks are 2-0 vs the Raptors this year and look to make it 3-0 and create a little more space on top of the conference standings.

Heat Beat Bucks 94-87

Milwaukee headed down to South Beach to play the Miami Heat on Saturday night. Malcom Brogdon was off for the night and resting. But This was the type of game that you would and should be able to expect the Bucks to win. But in typical Bucks fashion they lose to average teams and beat great teams. I never can understand how they fail to perform so often in games like this.

Giannis was 3-12 from the field with only 9 points and his worst game on the offensive end in a long time. Lopez was 4-11 from the field and Bledsoe was 4-12.The Bucks shot 37% from the field. There was minimal ball movement and low quality possessions time after time. The Bucks shot 9-43 from the three point line and seamed at times to just be throwing shots up.

On the Detroit side of things Blake Griffin recorded a triple double with 19 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The negative side of his stat line is the 10 turn overs that definitely didn’t help the Pistons chances of a victory.
