San Antonio, TX – Tonights game confirmed one thing and thats for sure. The Bucks are great but not perfect. With the loss the team is now a league best 32-6 so no need to worry even the best teams gotta lose sometime.
Giannis just missed a Triple Double with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists but tonight is was not enough as the Bucks lost to the Spurs 126-104.
Bucks lose to San Antonio in a matchup that featured the Bucks head coach playing against the organization he worked and assistant coached in for 19 years. Mike Budenholzer comes from the Gregg Popovich tree and if you didn’t know then I’m sure you suddenly understand him better now. So tonights game was teacher vs student and the teacher got the best of the duo this time around.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 27 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Malcom Brogdon on the other end had a terrible game shooting 2-10 from the field, scoring 5 points. The Bucks were -27 with Brogdon in the game verses the +13 they were with Brook Lopez in the game who scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Pat Connaughton had maybe his best offensive game of the season tonight scoring 14 points on 5-5 shooting from the field including 4-4 from 3 point range.
The loss brings the Toronto Raptors to within 2 games of the Milwaukee Bucks who still lead the Eastern Conference and have the best record in the NBA.
The Bucks clashed tonight with the under achieving San Antonio Spurs tonight. The game was a back and forth game that lead to the Spurs being up one on the Bucks at the half. When the third quarter ended the Spurs had added to the lead and were at that point up by 7 points. The forth quarter belonged to the Bucks as they outscored the Spurs 40-27 in that last quarter and stormed back from 7 down to win by 6.
Giannis Antetokounmpo showed up big with 34 points, 18 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block to lead the Bucks to victory. The Greek Freak also made 16 out of 20 free throws and if he could do that every night that would be big. Giannis also had help and it came in the form of Malcom Brogdon’s 23 points, Khris Middelton’s 21 points and Eric Bledsoe’s 20 points and 10 assists.
The Bucks head to Charlotte on Monday to play the Hornets at 5:30pm Milwaukee time. Kemba Walker has been red hot and should give the Bucks all they can handle, the guards are gonna need to come to play.
